This weekly honor, 'Crown Royal & Hoop Heads North #ReignOn Raptor Of The Week', will be given out to the Toronto Raptor we feel has made the most impact on the team during that 7 day period. We will award the player who set the tone and showed their ability to 'ReignOn'!
It's not reserved for starting players, or strictly the player who averaged the most points, it's the player we feel had the most impact (offensively, defensively, or perhaps in ways that can't even be quantified – although I'm sure there's always a way with advanced analytics!) on the games the Raptors have played that week.
The inaugural honour of this acknowledgement, 'Crown Royal & Hoop Heads North #ReignOn Raptor Of The Week', given each week through the rest of the 2013-14 NBA season, has been awarded to the Raptors' starting point guard, Kyle Lowry.
The Raptors earned a 2-1 record in their 3 games this week, and Kyle has been helping lead the team all along their successful run as of late. His impact and abilities on the court were definitely highlighted this week.
In the Raptors' first game of the week vs. the Milwaukee Bucks, the Raptors were able to set the tempo and cruise to a 116-94 victory, with the help of Kyle's 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals! Even in the Raptors' tough 88-83 road loss to the Boston Celtics, Kyle refused to lose without a fight. In that loss, he put together a near triple-double with 18 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds. He's also been scorching hot from 3-point range as of late. Kyle made a season high SIX 3-point shots on 9 attempts, and lead the Raptors with 24 points in the Raptors' 94-89 home win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.
