With every tape measure blast here in the postseason, Kyle Schwarber is solidifying his position as a favorite among Chicago Cubs fans, but, really, it should come as no surprise to anyone.
As a senior in high school, dude was named “Most Likely to Succeed” and suffice it to say…the kid has made good on the yearbook superlative.
The Middletown, Ohio, native made a name for himself not only on the diamond, but as a standout football player and member of the school’s show choir. Schwarber also stayed busy working at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken.
See…he’s just like you and me!
“We all know him. We’ve known Kyle since he was a little boy,” said Middletown police chief Rodney Muterspaw said after the rookie was called up to the Cubs. “It makes you feel really proud of the Schwarber family and Kyle and the city of Middletown.”
But, yeah, back to those show choir days. That’s the then-svelte Schwarber singing about sleigh bells jing-a-linging and ring ting ting-a-tinging on the right side of your screen.
