The July 2nd, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Angels acquire Rich Hill for $1, would a Mike Trout be possible and much more…

The Story: The Angels acquired Rich Hill from the Red Sox for just $1.
The Monkey Says: I get why that happened, but those kind of transactions always seem funny. Unfortunately, after his first appearance with the Halos, that looks like $1 ill-spent.

The Story: What would a Mike Trout trade even look like?
The Monkey Says: It would look like the end of the world as we know it. The seas would turn red, the earth would split open and Satan would make sit one a throne of souls… or something like that.

The Story: Michael Kohn was optioned to Triple-A.
The Monkey Says: He never got to pitch during his brief time back with the club, but someone had to go to make room for Rich Hill.

The Story: Reactions to the Astros information leak.
The Monkey Says: The Angels got a little bit of mention, but nothing salacious. All Houston knew was that the Halos were shopping Trumbo, Aybar and Kendrick, but everyone knew that. The only new piece of info is that the Angels originally talked a Hector Santiago-Peter Bourjos swap before the two different trades that went down including those players.

The Story: More info on Mike Trout’s 489-foot homer.
The Monkey Says: Apparently it was NOT the longest homer ever at Kauffman Stadium, as originally reported.
