The August 1st, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Angels content with lack of additional trades, Skaggs to be examined for forearm tightness and much more…
The Story: Jerry Dipoto was content with the lack of additional moves made by the Angels at the trade deadline.
The Monkey Says: Which is what I would say if I were him. The Angels have a very good roster, but it is hard to look at the new rotations that the Tigers and A’s boast and think that you’d have a good chance against either one of them in the ALDS or ALCS.
The Story: Tyler Skaggs will be examined after leaving his start last night with forearm tightness.
The Monkey Says: The team doesn’t believe it is serious, but any time there is forearm tightness, there is a creeping concern over Tommy John surgery. One can’t help but wonder if this won’t motivate the Angels to explore August trades for a starting pitcher, especially if Skaggs lands on the DL.
The Story: Manny Machado keeps throwing out Albert Pujols in spectacular fashion.
The Monkey Says: Those are both great throws, but Pujols is slower than whale snot, so the degree of difficulty isn’t quite as high as it might appear.
