The November 10th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Angels interested in trade for Saunders, sign RP Jeremy McBryde and much more…

The Story: The Angels are one of many teams showing interest in OF Michael Saunders.
The Monkey Says: There are a lot teams interested, so the Mariners aren’t going to be terribly motivated to deal him within the division, which is too bad because Saunders would be a nice fit for the Halos.

The Story: The Angels signed RP Jeremy McBryde to a major league contract.
The Monkey Says: McBryde’s numbers in the minors have been fantastic, yet he never got even a September call-up. For the Halos to give him a big league contract really says something about what they see in him. It seems unlikely that he’ll make the Opening Day roster, but Dipoto likes having arms he can shuttle up and down between the majors and minors, so McBryde figures to be on that short list.

The Story: The signing of Roberto Baldoquin is on hold until he can obtain a visa.
The Monkey Says: There is no reason to think it won’t happen. This is just paperwork. However, buried in this story is a report that the Halos don’t figure to be big players for Yoan Moncada, which refutes a number of other rumors floating around. Make what you will of that.

The Story: Mike LaCassa and Jonathan Strangio both received promotions within the Angels front office.
The Monkey Says: I have no idea if these are even meaningful, but since we only ever seem to here about the Angels terminating someone, it is a nice change of pace to see some guys getting a bump up the ladder.

The Story: Dave Cameron projects the Angels to sign Jon Lester.
The Monkey Says: The Halos have been on record as not wanting to pay the luxury tax, but the logic here makes sense. Moreno has maintained that he would pay the tax for the right player and Lester could be that player. It still strikes me as unlikely, but I do believe that Dipoto will at least keep tabs on Lester should an opportunity to swoop in and sign him represent itself.

The Story: An offseason primer for the AL West.
The Monkey Says: Yuck, please don’t invoke the name of Aaron Harang and the Angels in the same sentence. No, thank you.

The Story: Matt Shoemaker and Hector Santiago will join the All-Star team playing a series in Japan this offseason.
The Monkey Says: A cool experience for both of them, but Hector Santiago an All-Star? The funny thing is that he isn’t even close to being the least All-Starish name on that roster.

The Story: Keith Law doesn’t believe anyone will take a chance on trading for Gordon Beckham.
The Monkey Says: That $5 million price tag is just too much. He really might be a change of scenery guy, but that’s a big chunk of change to layout to find out just how much scenery he needs to have changed. Even for a team with deep pockets like the Halos.

The Story: Matt Shoemaker’s brilliant rookie campaign saved the Angels’ season.
The Monkey Says: Hyperbole much? It really helped, but I don’t know about “saved.” I’d say that Garrett Richards’ breakout campaign saved it first. Shoemaker re-saved it after Richards went down, I guess. This isn’t a complaint, mind you, Shoemaker is great, that article title just struck me oddly.

The Story: The 2014 Internet Baseball Awards have been announced.
The Monkey Says: Trout won AL Player of the Year in a landslide, but not unanimously because people on the internet are crazy. Matt Shoemaker finished noticeably lower in AL ROY voting and Mike Scioscia finished a distant second in AL MOY voting.
