The December 5th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Angels not likely to pursue top free agents, Trout tops the trade value rankings and much more…

The Story: Jerry Dipoto says the Angels aren’t likely to be “playing at the top of the free-agent market food chain.”
The Monkey Says: He also isn’t likely to not mangle a metaphor. Anway, Dipoto is doing his usual schtick of throwing cold water on the likelihood of the Halos going after big free agents at the Winter Meetings. That doesn’t they won’t though. If you read the quote, he left himself an out by saying he won’t do anything to “build constraints.” So it really boils down to how you define that.

The Story: Mike Trout tops Jonah Keri’s trade value rankings.

The Story: The free agents that the Angels might target at the Winter Meetings.
The Monkey Says: Free agents? Silly rabbit, Dipoto likes to make trades.

The Story: 10 bold predictions for the Winter Meetings.
The Monkey Says: Howie Kendrick to Nationals makes too much sense, so it probably won’t happen.

The Story: The incredibly JAWS of Bobby Grich.
The Monkey Says: Let this be your annual reminder that Grich not being in the Hall of Fame is a freaking crime.

The Story: Prospects #75 through #100 of Scout.com’s Angel prospect rankings.
The Monkey Says: That post itself is behind a paywall, but the individual write ups are free. Check them out as Taylor does good work.
