Halo Headlines: Angels poised for positive regression, J.T. Snow got Hall of Fame votes

The January 9th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Angels poised for positive regression, J.T. Snow got Hall of Fame votes and much more…

The Story: The Angels are one of five teams poised for positive regression in 2014.

The Monkey Says: I think a lot of people think that as so much went wrong in 2013. The question is how much bounceback do they really have in them? At this point, I am seeing them as an 86-win team, and that isn't going to be good enough for a Wild Card spot.

The Story: Once again, no Angel player was voted into the Hall of Fame.

The Monkey Says: But J.T. Snow got two votes! He was more of a Giant than an Angel, but we'll take what we can get. I still don't know who the hell thought he was worth voting for him, but, whatever. Heck, I'll even take the one-plus season Lee Smith played for the Halos.

The Story: The Angels signed OF Kyle Hudson and IF Shawn O'Malley to minor league contracts.

The Monkey Says: Hudson is a speedy centerfielder with no power whatsoever who had a cup of coffee with the Orioles in 2011 and then bounced around some. O'Malley is a Tampa farmhand who also has speed but no power whatsoever. It is unclear if either of them are going to get an invite to big league camp this spring.

The Story: A profile of Angels prospect Michael Roth.

The Monkey Says: We are doing our prospect countdown right now and Inside The Halos apparently is as well. They do good work, so give them a read… after you give us a read.
