The December 2nd, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Beckham and LeBlanc to be non-tendered, begin right about Richards for the wrong reasons and much more…

The Story: Gordon Beckham and Wade LeBlanc are expected to be non-tendered today.
The Monkey Says: Not a surprise. Multiple versions of this story say the Halos want to bring Beckham back on a lesser deal, but that could take some time to materialize, if ever. It seems likely that Beckham will be able to find a more prominent role elsewhere (Toronto?) as he attempts to reboot his career.

The Story: The Angels signed Albert Suarez to a minor league deal.
The Monkey Says: He’s 25 and coming from the Rays organization. He is/was a starter, but not a particularly good one. This appears to just be a minor league depth move.

The Story: Being right about Garrett Richards for all the wrong reasons.
The Monkey Says: Interesting insight into Richards’ turnaround. What piques my interest is that the curve was actually supposed to be one of Garrett’s best pitches coming out of college, but the team largely had him keep it in the bag until last season. I guess they should’ve let him use earlier.

The Story: The Angels are the strongest team up the middle, according to WAR.
The Monkey Says: Once again, having that Trout guy really helps. Having a very nice doubleplay combo helps too. Too bad Howie won’t be around this time next year, in all likelihood.
