The June 13th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Hector Santiago thinks he fixed his mechanics, Angels sign their 2nd round pick and much more…

The Story: Hector Santiago believes he fixed his mechanical problems that were causing his struggles.
The Monkey Says: The way he was pushing off and striding is what he thinks caused him to have problems. Based on the early results, he looks as if he might’ve figured it out. Also, Santiago will start in the Atlanta series as the Halos will use the off day to push Matt Shoemaker back in the rotation.

The Story: The Angels signed second-round pick Joey Gatto to a $1.2 million deal.
The Monkey Says: That’s about $150,000 over slot, so it was expensive, but he was a signability guy they took care of quickly, which should really help them out with the rest of their draft class.

The Story: Ian Stewart is frustrated with the progress of his rehab.
The Monkey Says: He looks like he could play some rehab games next week. After that, imagine how frustrated he is going to be when he gets demoted back to the minors the instant he comes off the DL.

The Story: Tyler Skaggs is running again and expects to come off the DL once he is eligible.
The Monkey Says: That doesn’t give Santiago much time to prove that he is all the way fixed, but I think the Angels will give him the benefit of the doubt.

The Story: Cam Bedrosian is following in his father’s footsteps.
The Monkey Says: With Cam pitching in Atlanta this weekend, his hometown and thus with his father likely in attendance, I’m sure this topic won’t be broached at all, especially on the national broadcast this Sunday.
