The October 20th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including the best teams should make the World Series, Hansen under consideration for Oakland hitting coach and much more…

The Story: The best teams should make the World Series.
The Monkey Says: Less talking about the Royals, more talking about how the Halos should have gone to the World Series. I liked that part. Let’s just pretend that’s what actually happened, agreed?

The Story: Angels assistant hitting coach Dave Hansen is a candidate for the hitting coach vacancy in Oakland.
The Monkey Says: Hansen filled in well for Don Baylor while he was out, but he wouldn’t be the greatest loss either. If Hansen did head to Oakland, the Halos would likely promote Paul Sorrento as they did during Baylor’s absence.

The Story: The Angels are now taking deposits for season tickets.
The Monkey Says: Give them your money now before they make an offseason move that changes your mind!

The Story: The parallels between then 2002 Angels and 2014 Royals.
The Monkey Says: There are some similarities, but one of the major differences is that the 2002 Angels were very good offensive team that could beat you with speed and power. The 2014 Royals were 9th in runs in the AL, 10th in wOBA and 11th in wRC+. Those 2002 Angels were 4th in runs, 6th in wOBA and 6th in wRC+. Similar? Yes. The same? No.
