The Story: Tommy Hanson will make a rehab start at Inland Empire on Thursday.
The Monkey Says: That puts him on track to rejoin the Angels on July 23rd, filling out the rotation once again.
The Monkey Says: Yup, it is a very slow news day.
The Story: Mike Trout, Bryce Harper and Manny Machado are MLB's naturals.
The Monkey Says: Because it is the All-Star break, I will tolerate this sycophantic, forced comparison of these three.
The Monkey Says: So Williams keeps his rotation spot, at least for the time being. That makes sense in that it would be something of a waste to boot him from the rotation when he might only be getting three more starts before he gets supplanted by Jason Vargas. What is interesting is that they have not yet announced that Joe Blanton will follow Williams. It is likely that they just didn't want to announce it this far out, but it at least gives us some hope that our wish might come through that Garrett Richards could be given a shot in Blanton's stead.
