The Monkey Says: Odds of him blowing out his knee in the next week just went up by a million. Also, is it just me or do is forearms and hands look really jacked up? Like way too jacked up for a 21-year old? It isn't just me, right?
The Monkey Says: This move is odd to me because Bourjos can still serve as a defensive replacement and pinch-runner despite his injury. Meanwhile, the Angels now have 13 pitchers on the roster, which is way too much even for a lousy bullpen like theirs. That being said, Richards has the stuff that could make him a difference maker in the bullpen, assuming that is what he is really up to do and not secretly being called up to step in for Dan Haren today if things go south in a hurry.
The Story: Albert Pujols left last night's game with a sore calf and could miss the next few games.
The Monkey Says: He's getting a precautionary MRI today and is unlikely to play at all today as well. If this is minor, don't be surprised to see him come back as a DH for a few days before shifting back to first base. Hopefully he isn't out long not only because the Angels need him, but because the Angels now basically have just two bench players thanks to the Bourjos-Richards transaction.

The Monkey Says: I love Rob Neyer, but, duuuh! Of course they do, everyone knows that. The good news is it looks like it is slowly happening with Santana back on track(ish) and Weaver rebounding from his one poor start. Greinke would be fine too if he could just avoid the one big inning, the same goes for C.J. Wilson. To me, the only guy really worth worrying about is Dan Haren since there is a potential health issue involved.
