The November 26th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Trout wants to steal more bases, the best offseason trade ever for the Angels and much more…

The Story: The best offseason trade ever for each MLB team.
The Monkey Says: Getting a Hall of Fame pitcher? Yeah, I think that’s pretty good.

The Story: Mike Trout wants to try and steal more bases next season.
The Monkey Says: This is in part of a longer Q&A which I suspect was setup so that he could promote that sports drink he is hawking, but he mentions multiple times that he is going to work on having quicker feet this offseason with the ultimate goal of being faster and stealing more bases. That should be music to a lot of Angels fans’ ears.

The Story: Michael Roth cleared waivers and elected free agency while Alfredo Marte and Jackson Williams accepted their assignments to the minors.
The Monkey Says: Roth will try and find a fresh start elsewhere, maybe with a team that will focus on using him as a LOOGY, which was always his manifest destiny. Marte and Williams figure to be non-roster invites to training camp.

The Story: Angels spring training tickets go on sale December 5th.
The Monkey Says: If you haven’t been, get your tickets early as the Halos are a hot ticket even though the stadium they play in is kind of a dump, especially compared to Talking Stick.

The Story: A look at the one-and-done pitchers on the 2015 Hall of Fame ballot.
The Monkey Says: Sorry, Percy. But it is an honor just to be nominated, right?

The Story: Nick Tropeano fills a need for the Angels.
The Monkey Says: I’m pretty excited for Tropeano, but really any young pitcher that is even a fringe MLB player is what the Halos’ depth chart needed.

The Story: A look at Kole Calhoun’s second half regression.
The Monkey Says: I’m always a bit reluctant to buy into the mechanical explanations based on two random swings. I’m not doubting the conclusions, but I always wonder if the writer really watched enough video, or if he only watched the two clips he posted. The change in swing mechanics might be part of the explanation, but it doesn’t really explain the more aggressive approach called out in the article either.

The Story: Jerry Dipoto has made a trade with almost every single MLB team already.
The Monkey Says: Jerry sure likes to trade. Heck, you can even count the Angels in that list since he swung that Haren deal with them during his brief tenure as the interim GM in Arizona. He’s got seven more teams to mark off his list, one of which is the Nationals, which seems like a real possibility.
