Angels Player Power Rankings - Week 25

As always, the rankings are based on a player's overall season performance with a weight on recent performance.

1		— 0 Last Week: 1	Mike Trout – Seriously, Mike. It is time to put the cape back on and start hitting like a monster again. You're still getting on base, which is great, but for the sake of the playoff push (and to a much lesser extent, the MVP race), finish strong.
2		— 0 Last Week: 2	Jered Weaver – Speaking of stepping up for the playoff push, how does a 2.10 September ERA grab you?
3		— 0 Last Week: 3	Albert Pujols – The monster is finally out of the cage with a 1.029 OPS in the last week.
4		— 0 Last Week: 4	Zack Greinke – He continues to justify the big price the Angels paid to acquire him, but he also continues to inflate his price on the forthcoming free agent market.
5		— 0 Last Week: 5	Torii Hunter – He had a rough week, possibly because he is getting moved all over the lineup again or possibly because he is a 37-year old nearing the end of a long season or possibly because of randomness.
6		— 0 Last Week: 6	Kendrys Morales – He had only three hits in fourteen at-bats this week, but two of those hits were homers. That, my friends, is efficiency.
7		— 0 Last Week: 7	Erick Aybar – Aybar is hitting well, but he also finally found a way to get some sac bunts down for a change. Not that I approve of sac bunting, but I disapprove of botched sac bunts even more.
8		+3 Last Week: 11	Ervin Santana – (Finally, a change in the rankings.) Better late than never for Ervin to start pitching his ass off. Let's just hope he can keep it up for two more starts
9		— 0 Last Week: 9	Chris Iannetta – If Iannetta really was a point of contention between Scioscia and Dipoto, it is safe to say that after catching every inning this week that either the two are now on the same page (or Dipoto flexed his muscles and won, if you are more of the conspiracy theory type).
10		+2 Last Week: 12	Dan Haren – He isn't doing it as easily as he used to, but at least he is still doing it.
11		-3 Last Week: 8	Howie Kendrick – I hate to keep dwelling on the GIDP thing, but Kendrick loves to keep hitting into them at the absolute wrong time.
12		-2 Last Week: 10	Ernesto Frieri – Guess who just earned himself an off-season of speculation over whether or not he should be replaced as closer?
13		+1 Last Week: 14	Kevin Jepsen – When did Jepsen become the most reliable reliever in the bullpen?
14		+3 Last Week: 17	Alberto Callaspo – I will never understand Callaspo. Every time I am ready to write him off, he goes and rips off a .914 OPS just like he did this week.
15		— 0 Last Week: 15	Scott Downs – Wow, Scioscia actually let Scotty pitch one whole inning in one of his appearances this week! Seriously, I know Downs struggled with shoulder problems, but what does he really have to do to earn Mike's trust back?
16		-3 Last Week: 13	Mark Trumbo – Just two strikeouts in 15 ABs this week. Even though he also had just two hits, I say that is progress.
17		-1 Last Week: 16	C.J. Wilson – At least C.J. will get to say that he was a free agent bust before it was cool, right?
18		+2 Last Week: 20	Garrett Richards – All of the sudden, Richards is the workhorse of the bullpen pitching in four times this week, three of which worked out pretty well.
19	NO IMAGE AVAILABLE	— 0 Last Week: 19	Nick Maronde – Maronde failed to get out the only batter he faced this week, but I think he should get a pass since it was A.J. Pierzynski who for some reason is going to haunt the Angels well past the date of his own death.
20		+3 Last Week: 23	Jerome Williams – Hey, Jerome, doing anything on Wednesday? Good, keep your calendar open. I have the feeling you might be needed again.
21		— 0 Last Week: 21	Vernon Wells – This was the highlight of Vernon's week.
22		-4 Last Week: 18	Jordan Walden – It is amazing to think that the Angels went to a closer-by-committee this week and the guy who was closer to start the season is somehow not involved.
23		— 0 Last Week: 24	LaTroy Hawkins – Hawk had a rough second half, but has it really been so bad that he only gets called upon to work just one inning of mop-up work?
24		+1 Last Week: 26	Maicer Izturis – Izturis returns from injury just in time to allow Scioscia to start screwing with the infield rotation right smack in the middle of a playoff chase.
25		— 0 Last Week: 25	Peter Bourjos – Wait, what? Scioscia actually let Petey bat this week? Is he feeling OK? Next thing you know Bourjos is going to get a start… nah, that would be crazy.
26		-4 Last Week: 22	Bobby Wilson – Somehow Scioscia went the entire week without using any of his back-up catchers. In protest, Bobby Wilson quit Friendster.
27		— 0 Last Week: 27	Kole Calhoun – How can you hate on a guy who hit 1.000 this week?
28		— 0 Last Week: 28	Barry Enright – With a scoreless inning of relief work, Enright is giving Calhoun a run for his money as the team's MVG (Most Valuable Ginger).
29		— 0 Last Week: 29	Jason Isringhausen – No baseballs were harmed in the one inning of work Izzy got this week, which is something of an upset.
30		+1 Last Week: 31	Andrew Romine – He played once this week… apparently.
31		-1 Last Week: 30	John Hester – No playing time, but still handsome. Point, Hester.
32		— 0 Last Week: 32	Hank Conger – Oh, c'mon, at least let him pinch-hit or something.
33		— 0 Last Week: 33	Andrew Taylor – Nope, he still hasn't played. However, I am pretty sure I saw him warm-up at least once.
