Tonight, on the campus of Duquesne University, the La Salle Explorers defeated the Duquesne Dukes 71-68.
This game was tight throughout but somehow, some way, the Explorers pulled it out behind their good guard play. Leading the way for the Explorers was Sr. G Earl Pettis. Pettis had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Pettis shot the ball well tonight, going 7 of 13 from the field and 2 of 4 from three point range. Also, Jr. G Ramon Galloway continues to impress this season. Galloway had a double-double tonight, putting up 15 points and dishing out 10 assists.
From the Dukes side, they also got good play from their guards. So. G T.J. McConnell had 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and a block. Then, Jr. G Sean Johnson contributed 16 points and was 3 of 4 from three point range.
The Explorers, who are now (16-6, 5-2 A 10) and are in a three way tie for 1st place in the Atlantic 10, will have a couple days off until their next game at home vs. the Charlotte 49ers (10-10, 2-5 A 10). This game will be on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
