On Tuesday, La Salle University and Dr. John Giannini announced that the shooting guard Jordan Price, who only played one year at Auburn, will be transferring to the school.
Last season as a freshman with the Tigers, he averaged 5.4 points per game and shot 39 percent from three point range. What makes Price such an intriguing guard is that he is 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds. That’s a big guard that could make some noise in the Atlantic 10 conference. In a game last season versus Rhode Island, Price scored 19 points which is a career high for the young guard.
Coming out of high school, Price was the 57th ranked recruit nationally and named a four star player by Scout.com. So the Explorers are getting a talented guard just to add to their self proclaim “Guard U” notion. Earlier this offseason, La Salle added Cleon Anthony from Georgia Southern University.
By NCAA rules, Price will have to sit out the 2013-2014 season but will be eligible to play in the 2014-2015 season. He will also have three years of eligibility left. With him sitting out this season, he can learn from the likes of guards Tyreek Duren, Sam Mills, Tyrone Garland, and Taylor Dunn.
