Lackey Heading to Portland for His First Rehab Start

John Lackey is making his first rehab start since going on the DL for an injury to his biceps that he sustained during his first start of the season.  Lackey is scheduled to start for AA Portland today and pitch about a 4 inning, 65 pitch outing.  John Farrell said that if this outing goes well, it may be the only rehab start that he needs.  That is some good news since many of us thought Lackey might be done for much of the season when we first saw him leave the mound that first week in April.  I'll be crossing my fingers for him!
