The NBA lockout might have put the kibosh on the opening month of the new season but that hasn’t stopped our friends over at AccuScore from simulating the season to give fans something close to games we can enjoy.
Tonight the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers would have met and it would have marked former Spurs assistant coach Mike Brown’s first time facing San Antonio since taking the head coaching spot in LA.
However, according to AccuScore, the Lakers would have handed the Spurs their first loss of the season despite Tony Parker’s offensive output.
Los Angeles Lakers 103, San Antonio Spurs 83
The Lakers seem to be rejuvenated under Mike Brown or perhaps it was just an offseason of rest. Either way they are 6-0 and got an easy win against the rival Spurs. L.A. crushed San Antonio on the boards with Pau Gasol getting 24 and 14, Kobe Bryant with 17 and 14, Andrew Bynum with 16 and 9, and Lamar Odom with 12 and 12. Tim Duncan had 9 points and 10 rebounds in a short night while Tony Parker led the Spurs with 21 points.
So as we wait to see if the lockout ends soon or continues to ravish the new season, soak this in Spurs fans. This is as good as it’s going to get for a while.
