I want to start off with full disclosure. Thanks to both Dana and Brenda for sending this over on separate occasions on behalf of their respective companies. I’m usually up front when companies send info over that results in a post. No, they haven’t bought my opinion or anything…I only end up using info that I enjoy.
Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley had yet another awesome regular season in 2010. The Pittsburgh zone-blitz scheme asks a lot out of the linebackers, and Woodley has shown a tremendous grasp of the system and has excelled within it in only a few short years. He’s become a nearly-unstoppable force deserving of tons of praise.
For his efforts, he’s been nominated by VIZIO as a Top Value Performer:
“Pittsburgh LB LaMarr Woodley (LB) has been nominated as one of five finalists for the 2010 VIZIO Top Value Performer (TVP) award. This coveted award recognizes the players whose on-field performances most exceeded the value of their 2010 contract. With a salary of just $550,000, Woodley was an easy choice for this honor as he recorded 50 tackles with 10 sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions.
Other nominees for the 2010 VIZIO Top Value Performer award are Cleveland RB Peyton Hillis, Denver WR Brandon Lloyd, Buffalo WR Stevie Johnson and New York RB Ahmad Bradshaw. The winner of this award is determined by a public online fan vote held at www.TopValuePerformer.com. Voting is open now and will close at midnight on Sunday, January 23rd.
I thought your readers might be interested in helping recognize the great season Woodley had this past season and helping him win the award by casting their votes for him. In addition, Woodley is the only nominee offering a VIZIO TV to one of his fans if he wins the TVP award.”
With the strength and size of Steelers Nation, LaMarr should be a legitimate contender for the title. And just by voting for him, you could end up with a brand new television to call your own. Not a bad deal.
I know LaMarr is probably more concerned with the Ravens and eventually securing that other prize that the NFL gives out at the end of the Super Bowl, but at least the fans can focus on getting him recognized by VIZIO. You got 10 days before voting ends, so get on it, Steelers fans. You can find more info over on his Facebook page. Plus, Hillis, Lloyd, Johnson and Bradshaw all suck.
Go Steelers.
