Lane Kiffin will leave the University of Alabama to become head coach at Florida Atlantic University. Kiffin has had previous stints as a head coach at the University of Southern California and Tennessee but with little success. It seems that Kiffin is not only attempting to leave Nick Saban’s shadow but set himself up for a shot at a head coaching spot with another Power 5 school. Kiffin will take a pay cut from his current $1.4 million salary in his 5-year deal with FAU which will pay him around $1 million per year.
Kiffin is expected to stay with Alabama throughout the College Football Playoff but has already begun recruiting efforts and the process of filling out his football staff at FAU.
