“I’d rather be lucky than good.”
You’ve heard it said a million times and, likely, you’ve heard it from a million different sources. But who said it?
Larry King knows.
Babe Ruth was right when he said I'd rather be lucky than good…#itsmy2cents

Babe Ruth did.
Wait. Babe Ruth did? No he didn’t…it was Lefty Gomez. Seriously. Look anywhere and it’s the Hall of Fame pitcher that uttered that iconic six-word quote. Not the “Sultan of Swat”.
Just don’t tell that to King.
I interviewed Lefty and he told me Babe said it. They were teammates. RT @ronflatter: Except it wasn't the Babe. It was Lefty Gomez.

I guess, technically, there’s no real record that Gomez said it…other than everything everywhere says he did.
Could Ruth have said it?
It’s possible. I mean, the two were teammates with the New York Yankees for five years (1930-1934), so it is possible that it was Ruth and Gomez hijacked it, right? But, why, even if Gomez told King in an interview, is there no record of it until now? Sorry, @kingsthings…but I’m calling bullshit.
It’s my two cents.
