LaSalle Looks To Make A Run In A-10 Tourney

Two seasons ago the LaSalle Explorers made a Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.  They will have to rekindle some of that magic this week in Brooklyn during the A-10 tournament.

LaSalle finished this season 16-15 overall and 8-10 in conference and will be the #9 seed in the tournament.   They will begin tournament play Thursday afternoon against Massachusetts.  If they are able to survive against the Minutemen, the Explorers will meet #1 Davidson in the quarterfinals.

During the season the Explorers lost both games to Massachusetts by double digits.  The biggest win of the season for LaSalle came against VCU in double OT on the road.  The Explorers are led by Jordan Price who transferred from Auburn.  He leads the team this season in scoring at 17.3 ppg.   Price scored 30 in the previous game against Massachusetts.

The Explorers probably need to win at least one game in the tournament to have any shot at the NIT or CBI.  A run in this tournament is going to be tough.  Massachusetts is a team that has handled them twice this season and Davidson is a NCAA tournament lock.

Anything can happen in a single elimination format, and if Price can carry them they have a chance to possibly get to the semifinals on Saturday.
