Last Chat With A ‘Noles Fan Before Showdown With USC

This is the last discussion we will have about the Florida State Seminoles before they clash with the South Carolina Gamecocks.  Again we did a “Q & A” with www.chantrant.com about the Seminoles to help us gain a understanding of the team the Gamecocks will beat….yeah, I said it.

Here is our question and answer segment with our “War Chant” singing pals at ChantRant —

1.  What are the overall expectations for Jimbo Fisher after replacing a legend?

The immediate expectations were to make FSU football relevant again on a national level and be a contender for the ACC title. By most measures he’s been able to accomplish that in year one. More than that, he’s endeared himself to the Seminole nation by beating both of FSU’s biggest rivals, Florida and Miami, as well as our main division rival, Clemson. Now the expectations will undoubtedly expand to a Top 10 finish and BCS Bowl. But if Fisher is able to land all the blue chippers currently committed to the Noles on signing day, he’ll take a big step towards meeting those expectations.

2.  FSU fans you to get a lot of pleasure in beating Coach Spurrier when he was at Florida…is that desire still there now that he is at South Carolina?

Apparently not. The current Nole Poll question on our site is: How important is an FSU bowl win to you? Over half the readers responding so far have chosen the answer, “It would be nice, but not as big as beating UF and UM.” I think that’s due in part to the bowl game being anti-climactic after winning big over the gators and Canes. But it’s also a new live-and-let-live attitude towards Spurrier, as well as the fact that the old ball coach himself has mellowed.

3.  With the game right around the corner and knowing Ponder will play…does this change the complexity of the game and its’ outcome in your eyes?

Well, it gives FSU a better chance of winning. The Noles needed a reason to get geeked up for the game. A healthy Ponder playing his final game is something the team can rally around. Especially because Ponder himself will fire up players with an appeal to send all the seniors out on a high note with a ten win season — the first since 2003.

Thanks to these guys at www.chantrant.com again and check them out but remember GO COCKS!
