Late Rally Not Enough

The Red Sox came back from a four run deficit in the eighth inning but couldn’t hold on to win.  Josh Beckett gave up four earned runs on seven hits in six innings of work.  Wakefield came in to pitch a scoreless seventh.  The Sox offense tied the game int the top of the eighth with four runs, three of which came from Youk’s three-run jack.  The lead did not last long though; Bard gave up three hits and the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
