The NBA has implemented a system that can track a player’s every move. Well, according to The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd, nobody in the Eastern Conference Finals is running the court slower than James. But the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar doesn’t buy into the advanced stats.
“That’s the dumbest s–t I’ve ever heard,” James told Lloyd. “That tracking bulls–t can kiss my ass. The slowest guy? Get out of here.”

Outside of the statistics that directly reflect what happens on the court, advanced stats are just terrible algorithms that makes no sense. Kinda like the 538 algorithm that gave the Raptors the highest chance to win the Eastern Conference. Can’t fit chronic choke artists into a math equation. As far as saying Bron is ‘slow’ — anybody with a brain knows that is crap, he’s one of the best athletes still in the league and the best athlete in NBA History. Nobody is running the court slower than LBJ? Have they seen Kevin Love run? Not to get on Kevin Love but for christ sake that’s a terrible stat. Not to mention Bron takes the ball up the court as the PG — so he walks it up a lot. Statistics like this don’t contain any sort of context.
