Lefeld, Mouhon, Williams Named Steele 1st Team All-AAC, 11 Others Honored

gratts

Phil Steele released his All-AAC teams yesterday. As the headline says, 14 Bearcats landed on the lists, one of them twice.

The highlights were 3 Bearcats on the first team. Running back Hosey Williams, offensive lineman Eric Lefeld and defensive end Silverberry Mouhon all landed those honors. Congratulations to all three of them. Williams seems like the odd choice since his role was kind of hindered by Ralph David Abernathy IV, but when you look down the list, Houston has a rotation, UCF lost their main back, Temple is Temple and Williams’ numbers could be much better with more time.

Cincinnati put 4 on the second team, two offensive linemen and two linebackers. Center Deyshwan Bond and guard Parker Ehinger hit the offensive side, while linebackers Nick Temple and Jeff Luc made the second team. Temple could have been a first teamer, but he wasn’t for let’s say politics to make it sound shady.

The third team has two appearances by Shaq Washington. He cracks the team as a receiver and a punt returner. Washington and UCF’s Rannell Hall were the only two players to pull off that trick. Terrell Hartsfield and Zach Edwards also hit the third team to give UC four spots there.

As you can probably guess, UC had 4 spots on the fourth team. They were all offensive. Gunner Kiel made the fourth team despite never throwing a pass. He’s joined by two of his projected top targets in Mekale McKay and Chris Moore. Rounding out the list is RDA IV.

It’s interesting to note that only 1 tight end made any of the teams. That was USF’s Sean Price. The other spots were filled by receivers. Also, there were multiple centers on the latter two teams.

In the interest of full disclosure, here are the 4 teams. You can see teams for all leagues at Phil Steele’s website.
