Before we turn the page to 2014, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy can add another accolade to his already great season.

Today, McCoy was named the NFC Offensive Player for the month of December. It’s only right that McCoy finished up the last month of the season as the player of the month. Shady has been dominating this whole season and it showed down the stretch where the Eagles needed him the most.

In the month of December, McCoy rushed for 598 yards and two touchdowns while having one touchdown on 18 receptions. The Eagles would finish the month of December with a 4-1 record. Consequently, the only loss came to the Minnesota Vikings, where McCoy was not a factor.

In last Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, McCoy had 131 rushing yards on 27 carries and a receiving touchdowns to help the Eagles win 24-22 and capture the NFC East crown.

Also in that game, LeSean McCoy had 28 touches. If he has that many touches the Eagles will be in every game they play in. On Saturday, the Eagles will need McCoy as they will take on Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints at Lincoln Financial Field in the NFC Wildcard round.
