Jon Lester had a perfect game into the sixth inning until Eric Patterson dropped a routine fly ball. Michael Saunders then hit a two run homer to give the Mariners the lead for good. Lester had a career high 13 K’s but ran into trouble again in the eighth and was pulled for MDC.
David Ortiz hit a solo shot in the fourth that accounted for the Red Sox only run.
