In the eight games before their series against the Pirates, the Padres won three times and scored 28 runs. In the two games against the Pirates, they’ve won two times and scored 28 runs. This is one of the worst streaks of Pirate baseball that I can remember. It’s sucking the life out of pretty much everyone involved with Pirate baseball. I want to say that it can’t go on much longer, but I’ve been saying that since Wednesday and things just keep getting a little bit worse with every game. It would be nice if the Pirates at least get within ten runs of the Padres today, even if they aren’t going to win.
Kevin Correia starts for the Pirates today. Last time he took the mound, the Cubs just teed off on him. Mat Latos goes for the Padres. He strikes a lot of people out. Bad combination. First pitch is at 1:35.
