Let’s not forget, #21 was “Sabby on the spot” sometimes.

As much criticism as we heap on Sabby Piscitelli for playing out of position, we have to give him credit too. For being Johnny on the spot a lot of times at key moments in the game. On more than one occasion Sabby saved the Bucs (or tried to) so he should get his props for those moments too as he packs his Bucs bags for greener pastures. While only the replay is available, the return against the Raiders which gave momentum to the Bucs, was overlooked because of the end result. Had the Defense held up, Sabby would have been the hero of the day.

Sabby was pretty good on Special Teams as this downed punt shows…

Then there was this excellent breakup of a pass at Atlanta last year…

Perhaps Sabby’s best feature was his knack for being at the right place at the right time, at least as long as its not in coverage! Take this play against the Bills for example-

Without a doubt Sabby will be known more for his botched tackles, poor angles, and general mistakes in coverage. But for a few plays out of his career at least, Sabby was “Johnny on the Spot”.
