Let’s Talk About The 3 Guys Chasing Moss’ HR Ball

Can we talk about this for a second?

Cardinals Walk Off Home Run

Listen, walk-off home runs are exciting. Getting a free baseball is semi-exciting. But these three dudes? they should probably be a cautionary tale about letting a moment get to you.

Red Shirt Guy:

Hard to see with the ‘MkaeAGIF’ thing in the way, but he gets the ball. And also half-moons everyone watching on TV. He won.

Then he lost.

We all lost.

Neon Socks Guy:

You’ve got once chance (probably) in your life to slide down that hill. You can’t get ejected from the game – the game is over.

You aren’t able to win a slide down the hill at a charity auction, nor can you do it on the tour of the stadium. I promise you an usher won’t let you try, even in a rain delay.

You also can’t get the ball.

It was a superlong shot by the time you hopped the fence. You had to know right at the top of the hill that this effort was a lost cause… unless you slide? So why not slide? Why pull up gingerly?

Missed opportunity. The grass stains come out, bruh.

The Fall Down And Go Boom Guy:

Jackie Joyner hopefully wasn’t watching last night.

The pride of East St. Louis and among the greatest track and field athletes of all time would be embarrassed on what the hurdle prowess of her city has come to.

I mean, what else can we say here. Dude bit it. Hard. Trying to chase a ball he didn’t catch.

“That’s awesome, you caught a game winning home run?”

Actually, I kind of hopped over a fence and scooped it up ahead of a couple other grown men chasing it.

“Oh.”
