Lies, damn lies, and statistics: Let’s just enjoy the game.

Anyone who knows my work is aware I rarely cite statistics. I am spell bound by sabermetrics, especially the work by my colleagues over at Statistically Speaking. Honestly, I probably read their work more than any other site on the network.

However, I refuse to allow those manipulative numbers influence the way I feel and the opinions I express. Call it old-school, call it ignorance, it’s me. So excuse me, for just a minute of your time, while I throw statistical analysis to the wind and let you know why I am excited to see Manny being Manny in 2008.
