What I am about to say some may sounds “crazy” or “insane” but I strongly believe that this Union team will not only turn this season around, but make the playoffs.  Yes the Union have zero offense, a stagnate midfield that plays, what could be the most predictable brand of football in the world and yes the Union have the two most unimpressive wins this season. However, do not let the negatives fool you; the Union will be in the playoffs. It is not going to be pretty, and certainly will not be convincing too many. I am not saying that Pajoy will start scoring or Adu will start producing. Anyhow, I cannot imagine anyone complaining if the Union make the playoffs.

Sunday the Union play arch nemesis New York Red Bulls of New Jersey and what better way to turn around a season then a massive home victory. Second place, NYRB are a team in form with a three game winning streak that will end on Sunday. NYRB’s track record of 17 years “No cups” means they are due for a collapse and no better time then in Philly. The Union will score two goals against NYRB.

The Union will take three points onto the road with them to Dallas. Although FCD has some offensive power with Shea and Perez, their style should make up for an incredible boring game giving the Union a road point. Union will methodically pick up points and slowly climb the table.
You may be asking yourself where will the goals come from? Well, Pajoy and Danny Mwanga will contribute a few goals nothing spectacular but the Union do not need a guy to score a ton of goals. The beauty of mediocrity is a five goal scorer is acceptable. Plus Keon Daniel, Farfans, Gomez, Torres will all also contribute a few golden shots.
What I am saying is not that improbable, and quite likely. Not saying the U are going to sign Forlan or Drogba because I honestly cannot see Nowak bringing in anyone significant. I can see some key players such as Califf or Carroll leaving but an inspired defense will be the catalyst for the Union’s success this season and a few moments of coherent offense will land them in the playoff picture.
