Lightning Give Thompson A Four-Year Extension

Discover_Orange_Bowl

NThompson9The Lightning have agreed to a four-year contract extension with forward Nate Thompson.

Thompson, who was to be an unrestricted free agent after this season, will be paid  $6.4 million over the four years, which is a $1.6 million cap hit per year. The native Alaskan has six goals and ten points for the Bolts this season.

Getting Thompson in the fold for four years at this salary level was a no-brainer for Lightning GM Steve Yzerman and a good signing for the organization.
