Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Brayden Point has been selected as Team Canada’s captain heading into the upcoming World Junior Championship.

The current captain of the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL, Point was selected 79th overall by the Lightning in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.  He was also part of Canada’s gold medal winning squad at last year’s tournament where he recorded two goals and two assists in seven games.

Joining Point on Team Canada is fellow Lightning prospect Mitchell Stephens. The reigning champions will have their first game on Saturday, December 26th against the United States at 1 pm ET.
