Here is the release from the team:
Killorn, 24, played in all 82 games for the Lightning last season, collecting 17 goals and 41 points to go along with 63 penalty minutes. He was one of three players on the Bolts to skate in all 82 games. Killorn ranked sixth on the Lightning for goals with 17 in his first full season in the NHL. He notched six points in the first five games of the 2013-14 season, including the overtime-winner in Buffalo on October 8.
The Halifax, Nova Scotia native made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in 2014, appearing in four games. Killorn recorded a goal and an assist in Game 1 against the Montreal Canadiens on April 16. He fired a team-high six shots on goal in Game 4 in Montreal.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward has skated in 120 career NHL games, all with the Lightning over the past two seasons, posting 24 goals and 60 points to go along with 77 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut on February 10, 2013 against the New York Rangers, recording an assist in the game.
Killorn was originally selected by the Lightning in the third round, 77th overall, at the 2007 NHL Draft.
GM Steve Yzerman continues to build for the future. Killorn is a tremendous complimentary player and plays much bigger than he is.
Killorn on getting a deal done:
“I feel pretty good about it. It seemed like they were very interested in getting me signed, they wanted me to be part of what they have going in the future, so I was excited about that. Once we knew they were interested, it was going to be about finding the right number. It didn’t really take that long, I’m excited.”
