The Lightning have recalled forward Cedric Paquette from the Syracuse Crunch.
The 20 year old Quebec native played in 70 games with the Crunch this season, amassing 20 goals, 44 points and 153 penalty minutes. He ranks fourth among AHL rookies in penalty minutes. Paquette has played in 126 career QMJHL games over two seasons with Blainville-Boisbriand, netting 58 goals and 131 points.
Paquette was the Bolts fourth round pick (101st overall), in the 2012 NHL Draft.
Hockey’s Future says of Paquette:
Passed over in his draft year, Paquette may have been under the radar, but forcefully made an impression on scouts in his second year of eligibility. The hard-nosed approaches the game with a similar relentless nature, where he is a near-unstoppable forechecker who can also hold his own offensively. With soft hands around the net and the ability to create chances with his rough and tumble play down low, Paquette needs to continue to improve his skating and round out his game.
