General manager Steve Yzerman announced today that the Lightning have recalled defenseman Luke Witkowski from the Syracuse Crunch.
Witkowski made his season debut with the Bolts in last Thursday’s 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers. Through two games with the parent club he has recorded four penalty minutes. Luke has played in 13 games for the Syracuse Crunch this season. In those contests he has four assists and six penalty minutes.
The burly blueliner plays with a bit of an edge and fans saw him nearly come to blows with Chris Stewart in Saturday’s 5-0 win against the Anaheim Ducks. He’s played in 18 career NHL games, all with the Lightning over the past two seasons.
He also famously punched two guys at the same time once.
