The Latvian native has a some  international experience, appearing for Latvia in the 2013 IIHF World Championships and playing in the 2012 World Junior Championships. He has a chance to make the Latvian roster for the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympics.

Gudlevskis ranks behind Lightning netminders Ben Bishop and Anders Lindback and the Syracuse Crunch tandem of Riku Helenius and Cedrick Desjardins. Barring anyone claiming Desjardins and Helenius off waivers, it looks like Gudlevskis will start the season with the Florida Everblades.

The signing of Gudlevskis gives the Bolts the best organizational depth at the goaltender position that they’ve ever had.
