Lightning Tickets Least Expensive On The Road At Detroit

The Lightning ended a six-game postseason skid dating back to 2011 with their Game 2 victory against the Detroit Red Wings. Tampa Bay seemed as if they would end that drought in Game 1, as they dominated the play on the ice, outshooting the Red Wings, 46-14. But the team went 0-for-7 on the power play and yielded a short-handed goal that proved to be the difference in a 3-2 loss.

With the series tied up at one game apiece and the home-ice advantage shifting to the Red Wings favor, the Lightning look to steal either Game 3 or Game 4 on the road at Joe Louis Arena. According to TiqIQ.com, the average ticket price for Game 3 is $120.05 with a get-in price of $57, while Game 4 has an average ticket price of $147.21 with a get-in price of $50. Tampa Bay Lightning tickets for their home games (Games 5 and 7) have an average ticket price of $155.24 (get-in $64) and $287.86 (get-in $69), respectively.

With the Lightning dropping a game at home, they’ll need to win at Detroit at least once to take the series. Fans can find Detroit flights through Hipmunk.com, including hotels near Joe Louis Arena starting from $17 to be within walking distance.

It was surprising to see the Lightning lose a game at home, as they had the NHL’s best home record at 32-8-1 during the regular season. Steven Stamkos earned his first points of the series during Game 2, as the team’s captain dished out two assists. Goaltender Ben Bishop lost his shutout bid in the third period, but had a very strong game overall with 23 saves.

Tyler Johnson had a goal in the first period to kick off the action for the Lightning, and he also put the nail in the coffin at the end of the second period, stretching the score to 4-0 with less than a minute remaining.

Although the Lightning lost an early game at home, their overall play has to have them at ease. They’ve been the better team the majority of the time spent on the ice, with a few hiccups in Game 1 that can be turned around with strong efforts on the road this week.
