Limping along

I still want to see the Pirates take three of four from the Mets in this series, so at least they got things moving in the right direction with last night’s 3-2 win. Today, the get a rematch with Chris Capuano, who they infield-singled to death last week before sending Terry Collins off the deep end in one of the weirdest games I’ve seen in a long while. Capuano pitched pretty well against them in that game before the seventh inning meltdown, though, and runs are never a given with the Pirate offense in the state that it’s in right now.

Kevin Correia, meanwhile, tries to shake off his PNC Park struggles for the Bucs this afternoon and regain a share of the lead in MLB’s wins column with Roy Halladay, who leapfrogged him with his ninth win. I don’t really care about wins as a stat, but I do care about the Pirates leading the league in anything, especially as it pertains to the team winning games.

First pitch today is at 1:35.
