The Detroit Lions aimed for change when they hired Jim Caldwell to be their new head coach this past off-season. With one month to go, change has been enforced and the Lions are still alive for the NFC North title and a return trip to the playoffs.
Of course, the NFC is fairly stacked and the Lions can’t take their position for granted. With so many other solid teams behind them, it very well could take a division crown to guarantee a playoff spot.
For that to happen, Detroit may have to run the table, while naturally topping the NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers on the road in the season finale. To see if that’s something the Lions could be up to, let’s break down their cheapest and most expensive games in the final month of the regular season:
Cheapest – VS. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12/7/14) | Average Ticket Price: $116.19 | Get-in Ticket Price: $45 | Ford Field Suite Info
Lions tickets come down a bit in this week 14 battle with the lowly Buccaneers, who they’ll likely take care of business against at home. Detroit has the upper hand in just about every regard, as their league leading defense should be able to stifle Tampa Bay’s erratic offense and Matthew Stafford should be able to put up points at home. It’s just the first of four necessary wins, but Detroit fans shouldn’t be too worried about this first one to get the ball rolling.
Most Expensive – @ Green Bay Packers (12/28/14) | Average Ticket Price: $311.38 | Get-in Ticket Price: $149
Detroit has a chance to end a horrible streak, win the division, make the playoffs and potentially even knock the Packers out of the playoffs, all in one game. With Green Bay riding a 23-game winning streak against the Lions in the state of Wisconsin, Detroit will certainly have their work cut out for them.
Obviously the hype matches the pricing of Lions tickets for this insane week 17 season finale, as everything likely comes down to who can finish this one on top. Expect the weather to be cold, but luckily suites at Lambeau Field are available for fans looking to avoid the cold. But it won’t be cheap, as suite usually start north of $8,000 for Green Bay.
The Lions are a game back of Green Bay, but know they can beat these Packers after topping them in Detroit back in week three. If they can do it again and finish with the same record (or better) as the Pack, they can punch their ticket for a division title and a trip to the playoffs.
