In case you didn’t get the repeated reminders from Fox Sports on Sunday, Brett Favre is a heck of football player.
But as Lions’ fans, you already know this. You don’t need Fox Sports, John Madden or a chump like me to tell you over and over. Favre vs. the Lions is like a movie you’ve watched a hundred times, yet you keep watching it even though the crappy ending makes you sick to your stomach. Number four has built an All-Star career out of playing the Detroit Lions alone. (Why can’t he just stay out of the NFC North!?)

VS. DETROIT——
For a guy that has beaten every team in the NFL, leave it to the Lions to be the team to allow the most wins, completions, attempts, yards and touchdowns in his entire career.
After Brett Favre retires at the end of the year (or is it next year?) and is eventually inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame, he shouldn’t go in as a Viking, or even as a Packer. He should be inducted as a Detroit Lion. After all, we helped him put up big numbers more than any of his teammates ever dreamed.
You’re welcome, Brett Favre.
