Live Draft Blog: Rounds 4-7

The Raiders seem to have gotten the guys they wanted in the first three rounds. With their top pick at 48 they chose the man they were supposed to pick in Penn State center Stefen Wisniewski. In the third round they chose the fastest guy in the draft with Miami cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke. Then they traded their 2011 seventh round (no. 219) and 2012 second round pick to the Patriots to get another round three and round four pick this draft. They used the extra round three pick on offensive tackle Joseph Barksdale out of LSU.

The Raiders had needs on the offensive line and in the secondary coming into the draft and thus far they are drafting that way. They will take more offensive lineman in this draft. As Hue said, they just need “more bodies” along the line. They will also need to look at safety, outside linebacker, tight end, and defensive end.

Now the team has two picks in the fourth round to go along with a pick in the fifth, sixth, and one in round seven to give them a current total of five picks on the third day.

It should be a fun day and we will keep you updated on all the picks as they happen and add commentary along the way so stay with us. It is going to go by quickly.

The Carolina Panthers are on the clock with the first pick of the fourth round.
