Here is the latest news live from Sleep Train Arena:

  • The Sacramento Kings (26-49) can’t seem to find the right ingredients to get over the hump.  Losers of four straight, the Kings take on the Utah Jazz (34-42) tonight at Sleep Train Arena.  The Jazz have won three of four and have already shown a nine-game increase in the win column over last season.
  • Rudy Gay will miss his third straight game with a concussion.  The veteran wing is trying to get back to the court, but he first must wade through the NBA concussion protocol.  “I know he was trying to pass steps two and three yesterday,” George Karl said during pregame.  “I’m pretty sure he probably got one of them done.”
  • DeMarcus Cousins is coming off back-to-back incredible games.  The All-Star center dropped in his second straight 20-point, 20-rebound, 10-assist triple-double on Friday night against the Pelicans.  “He’s a basketball player,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said.  “You can get enamored with his size and his athleticism, but he’s a basketball player.  He’s got a great feel.  In addition to the skill, he knows when to make certain plays.  Those are the guys that are fun to play with.  They’re fun to watch when you’re not playing against them like tonight.”
  • Trey Burke is out tonight for the Jazz with a sore lower back.  He joins Alec Burks on the injury report who is out for the remainder of the season with a left shoulder injury.
  • For the second straight game, 7-foot-5 Sim Bhullar is in uniform tonight for the Sacramento Kings hoping to make his NBA debut.  The former Reno Bighorn center is drawing crowds of media from all over the world as he hopes to become the first NBA player of Indian descent to make an appearance in a regular season game.
