Tonight at 9:00 pm in a big Atlantic 10 matchup, the Saint Joseph’s Hawks travel down to the Charles E. Smith Center to take on the George Washington Colonials.
The Hawks come into tonight’s game with a 21-7 overall record and an 11-3 Atlantic 10 conference record. For the Colonials, they come into tonight’s game also with a 21-7 overall record and a 9-5 Atlantic 10 conference record. This game has seeding implications on the line for the Atlantic 10 tournament next week at the Barclays Center.
Currently looking at the Atlantic 10 standings, Saint Joseph’s is in second place and one game behind the Saint Louis Billikens. The George Washington Colonials are in fifth place in the conference and one game behind VCU for third place.
It is still a lot to be settled in the Atlantic 10. St. Joe’s is currently on a six game winning streak and their leading scorer is senior Langston Galloway who is averaging 16.9 points per game. For George Washington, they have won two out of their last three games. Their leading scorer is senior guard Maurice Creek.
George Washington needs this victory because sitting in fourth place is UMass and they both have the same conference record. For Saint Joseph’s this would be another good resume victory and sets themselves up for a great city battle on Sunday against La Salle.
