The Oakland Raiders have signed nine undrafted free agents to fill out their roster. Here is a look at who the Raiders have brought in.
LB Frantz Joseph-Florida Atlantic University
Joseph is an intriguing story, having left Boston College and transferring to the lower profile FAU so that he could be closer to home and help his mom.
DL Desmond Bryant-Harvard
Bryant is big and physical. He played at both end and tackle whilst in college. With the depth at end the Raiders grabbed in the draft, his best chance to make the team involve moving inside.
LB David Nixon-BYU
Nixon was second team All Mountain West as a senior. He had 43 career tackles for a loss from the outside linebacker position.
WR Nick Miller-Southern Utah
Miller is small and fast. He is primarily a returner, and will be used to push Justin Miller and Johnnie Lee Higgins in camp. With the Raiders stable of receivers, it is unlikely he will make the team.
WR Shawn Bayes-Kent State
Shawn Bayes is another small but fast receiver who may do some returning in camp, but very likely won’t be on the final 53.
TE Chris O’Neill-Boise State
O’Neill is a local guy, coming from Moraga, California. He did not have a standout career at Boise State as a receiving tight end. He will be tried out as a blocking tight end.
OG Jonathan Compas-UC Davis
At 293 Compas is a bit undersized to play guard. However, he will be in camp to compete and show whether or not he can be athletic enough to be a part of the Raiders zone blocking scheme.
WR Chris Johnson-Tennesee State
The Raiders have added a second Chris Johnson to their roster. He will be practicing against his namesake. Johnson only had 127 catches for his entire college career.
