Lorbek leads FCB Regal to victory on verge of elimination

Though the San Antonio Spurs do not own a first round draft pick in this years NBA Draft, they couldel still possibly bring in an influx of talent from overseas with two players who they hold draft rights.

A new report gives the assumption that French guard Nando De Colo is only looking at the NBA as his number one option, while Erazem Lorbek might also make his way across the pond, but for now he’s trying to win a championship over in Europe.

Lorbek and his team FCB Regal forced a game five to stay alive against Real Madrid on Wednesday. In the basketball league Lorbek is currently playing in, a team must win 3-out of-5 games in order to win a series. Both teams are tied at 2-2 after Lorbek was just too much for Real Madrid to handle.

Lorbek posted 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting (2/6 3PT, 2/6 FT), grabbed five rebounds, and collected four assists in Regal’s 81-75 series tying win.

Tiago Splitter’s Brazilain teammate Marcelinho Huertas added 11 points to Regal’s win. What does this win show? It shows that Lorbek is a player his team can rely on when they are on the verge of being eliminated.

The championship game will be held this Saturday as Lorbek and FCB Regal try to end their season on a winning note. It may be the last time Lorbek wears a European jersey if he and the Spurs decide to join forces this summer.
