The Angels continue to roll! The Halos swept the two game mini series with the Baltimore Orioles earlier this week and now travel to Toronto where they will begin a four game series tonight. The Halos closed out the Baltimore series in grand fashion with a 13-1 shellacking of the O’s, highlighted by “The Catch” made by Mike Trout.
The Angels are a season high 9 games over .500 and lead the league in pitching and are 3rd in hitting,;the team truly is clicking on all cylinders (see below for complete team statistics).
The Blue Jays come in to the series with the Halos ranked 12th in pitching (4.29 ERA), 9th in hitting (.251 avg.) and 4th in fielding (56 errors). Offensively the Jays are lead by sluggers Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion who have combined for 47 home runs and 112 RBI’s so far in 2012. Toronto is 38-37 this season, 5-5 in their last 10 games and sit 8.5 games back from the AL East leading Yankees.
Player(s) to Watch:
C.J. Wilson looks for his 10th victory of the season in the series finale on Sunday. He will face a Toronto Offense who is middle of the pack statistically. If Wilson can get past Bautista and Encarnacion then one has to like his chances.
