Los Angeles Rams Top Remaining Free Agents They Could Sign

brady on the line saints

The Los Angeles Rams have kept themselves extremely busy so far as new head coach Sean McVay is doing his duties so far at the start of the 2017 NFL Free Agency. The Rams still have a long way to go until their team is filled with zero holes for the season, but luckily there is still tons of time and free agents on the market. Let’s take a look at some remaining free agents that may take a visit over to Los Angeles.

Offensive Line:

Interior Offensive Linemen Nick Mangold

In the 2015 season, the Rams had the fewest sacks allowed as rookie Todd Gurley broke free in the NFL with record-breaking numbers. However the following year, the Rams offensive line collapsed. Greg Robinson continued to disappoint thousands as injuries slowly hit the line.

However the new addition the left tackle Andrew Whitworth, the dedication to fix the Rams line is there for coach McVay. If the Rams are hoping to give 2nd-year QB Jared Goff plenty of time to grow this season, they need to fill the Center role.

In enters, New York Jets Center Nick Mangold who would be a solid center for the Rams. He used to be one of the leagues best, but having another veteran on the line who still has plenty of skill and agility left will give the Rams plenty of time in the pocket. Mangold it’s time to take a visit to Los Angeles…

Wide Receiver:

Veteran Wide Receiver Vincent Jackson.

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that veteran WR Vincent Jackson has no plans to retire from the NFL, despite some recent speculation that he could call it a career. Jackson’s contract with the Buccaneers is up, which means he is a free agent. Now the Rams probably won’t make any more moves in the WR area, but if they can get a veteran WR who could make some plays here and there, why not? The attention will be on Austin, Woods and Cooper, maybe Jackson can go long here and there.

In 2016, Jackson appeared in five games for the Buccaneers and recorded 15 receptions for 173 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Cornerback

  1. Morris Claiborne.

The secondary is what really needs help right now, as I have a couple of suggestions on what moves the Rams may make. First up is taking a chance on Morris Claiborne who can be a difference maker when needed. According to Pro Football Focus he improved last season, but the injury bug is what eats Claiborne. Long story short, Claiborne is a wanna be Romo. However if this signing does not work out, the Rams may already have signed this CB..

2.  CB Kayvon Webster

First according to Benjamin Allbright, Looks like CB Kayvon Webster is going to wind up with the
DC Wade Phillips very familiar with his talent. His familiarity with Wade’s system will be a valuable asset and his value would likely have been higher had he not had to play behind Aquib Talib and Chris Harris who are two of the best players at their position. Despite being 5’11, Webster has proven to be a good tackler accumulating 64 of them thus far.

Linebacker

LB Jarvis Jones

According to Jason La Canfora, Ex-Steelers LB Jarvis Jones, who is visiting the Cardinals today, will visit the Rams next. LA very intrigued by him. Jones would be an OLB in Rams new 3-4 scheme. Has started 35 games, recorded 6.0 sacks in 4-year career. After a rookie season in which he posted 40 combines tackles, Jones has eclipsed that number just once, posting 41 tackles in 2016. The 27-year-old has also struggled as a pass rusher, posting only six career sacks in four NFL seasons.
